It is one of the easier trekking routes in the Annapurna region. The trail takes you through beautiful Modi khola valley up to Pun-hill, at the foothill of the Annapurna massif. Pun Hill is a viewpoint to see the Annapurna peaks including Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail), Mt. Dhaulagiri to the north and the other southern valleys there. The region is dominated by the Gurungs and Magars; both are ethnic groups of Nepal. While descending on the way back to Pokhara, we pass through the stone paved courtyards of Ghandruk village of Gurungs and there we can experience their age old tradition and culture. The trek starts from Pokhara; and you can look the beautiful Rhododendron (Nepal's national flower) forests, Green hills, lovely views on Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri North and South, Himchuli, Gangapurna, Fish Tail Mountain, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, IV Mardi Himal and Lamjung Himal views there. Here you can study the Gurung's culture, tradition and their living style.
